The Centre for Visual Arts and Research (CVAR) and the Cyprus Peace and Dialogue Centre (CPDC) extend an open call for submissions of works by artists of all disciplines to be included in the online shARe museum.
The shARe museum aspires to be an online repository of contemporary artworks by Cypriot artists and artists living and working in Cyprus.
Project concept
shARe refers to an online augmented reality (AR) museum, which will primarily act as a platform for the development and encouragement of participation by its users. The idea is not to replace an existing (art museum) structure, but to create a permanent virtual structure of a contemporary art museum, with a focus on the exchange of participants from the two main communities of Cyprus: Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots, and not excluding Maronites, Armenians, and Catholics.
The shARe museum will therefore consist of collections and exhibitions (as described above), whose users will be able to explore, interact with, as well as interact with each other.
More information will be announced by the CVAR in due time.
Scope
In light of Cyprus's challenging prospects, CVAR recognizes the necessity for establishing a framework to facilitate ongoing communication and foster collaborations among local artists, cultural stakeholders, and civil society.
shARe endeavors to sustain optimism for the reunification of the island and the harmonious coexistence of its diverse communities.
shARe museum is being established to facilitate dialogue and collaboration between artists from the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities, thereby promoting cultural exchange and understanding through an online forum, VR exhibitions, and other activities.
