The Cyprus Peace and Dialogue Centre (CPDC) and Determination for Peace (Apofasi Irinis) have jointly appealed to United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres, urging immediate and decisive action to resolve the ongoing Cyprus stalemate.
In a letter to the Secretary-General, the two groups expressed concern over the lack of progress in peace talks and growing public frustration. They highlighted the increasing tensions on the island and emphasised the need for a comprehensive, transparent, and inclusive approach to achieve a sustainable solution.
CPDC and Apofasi Irinis also announced plans to organise a "civic congress" to involve the public more actively in the peace process, including AI-facilitated dialogues through the platform Remesh.ai.
"We stand ready to collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and united Cyprus," the letter concludes.
