Values

Cooperation: CPDC shall work beyond borders of politics, religion, culture, race and ethnicity, and with organizations and individuals that share common values and objectives.

Human Rights: CPDC recognises the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights, are endowed with reason and conscience, and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood." (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 1) 

CPDC will:

• not violate any person’s fundamental human rights, with which each person is endowed.

• recognise that all people are born free and equal in dignity.

• be sensitive to the moral values, religion, customs, traditions, and culture of the communities they serve.

• respect the integrity of families and support family-based life.

Dignity & Respect: CPDC shall recognize the inherent dignity and worth of every individual and treat everybody with honour and respect, even if in disagreement.

Accountability & Transparency

Transparency: CPDC shall be honest and truthful in its dealings with donors, project beneficiaries, staff, membership, partner organizations, and the public in general and provide timely, accurate and relevant information.

 

Stakeholder Accountability: CPDC shall be accountable to its stakeholders and accept responsibility for the outcomes of their own actions.

Integrity

Ethics: CPDC will undertake their activities according to ethical principles, rejecting any participation in acts of corruption, extortion, bribery or other fraudulent practices. The counterfeiting of patents, models, drawings, brands and any infringement of other intellectual property rights are strictly prohibited.

Independent and Self-Governing: CPDC shall be independent and self-governing.  Its policies, vision, and activities shall not be determined by any for-profit corporation, donor, government, government official, political party, or other NGO.

Volunteers: In order to achieve its mission and objectives, CPDC may have meaningful contributions from volunteers. These may include both the target group and supporters.

Responsibilities

Effectiveness: CPDC shall attain and actively manage a level of competence appropriate to responsibilities undertaken, and execute those responsibilities to high technical and ethical standards for maximum stakeholder benefit, and encouraging others to do the same.

Health & Safety: CPDC will ensure a safe and healthy environment for beneficiaries, staff and volunteers, with particular attention to the most vulnerable, such as young workers, pregnant women and disabled workers and encourage a healthy work- life balance.

Protection of the Environment: CPDC is committed to minimizing the impacts of its work on the environment and will encourage others to adopt a proactive environmental strategy.
